Read This Before You Begin

Welcome to the assessment part of our hiring process here at StudioHub. We use this assessment to test candidates regardless of the role that they are applying for at StudioHub, so that we can make sure they have the foundational skills we are looking for in order to succeed here.

You have seven days to complete this assessment. There are three questions, and the assessment should take you one to two hours.

Turning in an assessment early works in your favour, because we move forward with people as their answers come in.

Please make sure that you read the instructions carefully, and that you complete each question thoroughly. We are tough with grading the assessment responses, and any careless mistake will immediately disqualify you.

Create A Step-By-Step Loom Video Tutorial

Create a "product guide" tutorial that teaches business owners how to build a Zapier automation. Your audience has no experience with automation and is not tech-savvy.

  • Create a step-by-step Loom video tutorial.
  • Walk them step by step through building the automation described below.
  • Share your camera as you make the video.

The automation to teach

The goal of this automation is to capture the sender's email address from any incoming email in Gmail and add it to a new row in a Google Sheet.

  • The Zap triggers when a new email is received in Gmail.
  • The Zap extracts the sender's email address from the incoming email and adds it to the Google Sheet.
  • Name the Google Sheet Leads List.
  • Call the worksheet List.
  • Type Leads for the column header.
  • Create a new row under the column Leads with the sender's email address each time an email is received.

In the introduction of the video, explain

  • A high-level overview of what they are going to learn.
  • Why they need to pay attention.
  • A quick outline of what the video covers.

Important

  • The video must be easily understood by a client who is not tech-savvy.
  • Organise the steps so someone can follow along from A to Z.

  • Can you organise your thoughts logically, so each idea flows from A to B to C?
  • Your understanding of automations.

  • Your ability to give clear and concise directions.
  • How well you present on camera.
  • Your ability to follow directions.
  • The effort you put into the video.

Question 2 of 3

Process Thinking

Create a flow chart documenting the process for making a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

Then:

  1. Make a Loom video sharing your screen, walking through your flow chart and explaining your train of thought.
  2. Share your Miro board with us. Make sure we can access it.
